CGMagazine reviews the RugTake T5 Pro: 7.5 / 10 for the great outdoors

7.5 out of 10 — and the reason is the brief, not the hardware

CGMagazine Online published its review of the RugTake T5 Pro 5G on 23 October 2026. Reviewer Matt Sowinski scored it 7.5 / 10 and framed the tablet around a single question: does it fit the people who actually work outside?

"The RugTake T5 Pro really is built with those who work outdoors, go camping often, or work around construction in mind."

What the review tested

  • Body: 11-inch slate at roughly 2.4 lb, sealed to IP68 and IP69K, tested to MIL-STD-810H for drops up to 1.2 m.
  • Battery: 20,080 mAh with 33W charging and OTG reverse charging. The reviewer notes it runs "days at a time" away from an outlet.
  • Performance: 6nm UNISOC T8200, 6 GB of physical memory plus 26 GB of extended RAM, 256 GB of storage expandable to 2 TB.
  • Display and cameras: 11-inch 2K 120Hz panel at up to 450 nits, 64 MP main camera, 20 MP night-vision camera, 16 MP front camera.
  • The odd one out: the 380-lumen camping light, including an SOS mode, gets called out as the feature that best explains who this tablet is for.

Where it fell short

The review is candid about trade-offs: 33W charging is modest for a battery this size, Chrome takes a moment to open and navigation shows occasional stutter, colours look a little muted, and the speakers get muddy at high volume. The verdict is that none of it breaks the device — but it also makes clear this is not a gaming tablet or an office machine.

What the score reflects is fit rather than raw specs. For hikers, campers and site crews, the reviewer concludes the T5 Pro is "the ideal companion"; for everyone else it is simply the wrong tool.

Price

The T5 Pro 5G carries an MSRP of $339.99.
